1. Exemption for Vietnamese in Norway
Since 24th September 2015, Vietnam Government has applied a Decision about visa exemption for overseas Vietnamese and their family members.
In particular, the visa exemption certificate is valid for a maximum period of 5 years. If the validity of one’s passport or equivalent travel document is less than 5 years by the time of submission, the certificate is valid until 06 months before the expiration date of passport or travel document.
Subjects who can apply for 5-year visa to Vietnam are:

2. Exemption for foreigners
Apart from Vietnamese, Norwegian and nationals of certain countries can enter Vietnam without a visa in a specific period.
Below is the list of those privilege countries:
2.1. Bilateral visa exemption: passport holders of these countries can be exempted from Vietnam Visa and vice versa.

Notes:
- For unilateral visa-exemption cases: the arrival date must be at least 30 days from the last departure from Vietnam and passport’s remaining validity must be at least 6 months.
- The travellers to Phu Quoc Island are exempted from visa and can stay up to 30 days.
- APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) holders are granted visa-free access to Vietnam for a period of 60 days.
